Educational Insights {GIVEAWAY}

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

I have found the most wonderful toy company!  I’ll never step foot in a Toys R Us again, happily.  I get so frustrated spending money on toys that aren’t truly creative, educational or challenging.   Often times a toy has all these features that appear to be teaching your child something but the toy is nonsense, it’s is more of an entertaining product than a learning tool.

Nicholas received Geo Safari Dino Dig set from Educational Insights, I knew he would love it because Nicholas LOVES dinosaurs.  He and his cousin plan to be Paleontologist partners one day :-)   So this Paleontology set provides a realistic archaeological challenge on a student-size scale. Both boys sat at our table and completely were silent while they uncovered their discoveries.  It invited them to excavate and assemble a complete skeleton from “fossilized” rock like real archaeologists—the perfect hands-on activity for dinosaur lovers!  How unique is that idea. They had a blast using all the excavation tool, dust brush, wax adhesive and 32-page Activity Guide with complete instructions and learning more about the amazing T-Rex.  Alex is 10 and Nicholas is almost 4, both boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  They learned to work together and realized even more how much they want to be paleontologist!   The boys were very impressed with their accomplishment.  Educational Insights understands how to challenge your kids, spark their imaginations and let them shine!

“See you later alligator, after a while crocodile”, a saying that still to this day reminds me of my grandmother.  She said it everyday of my life growing up, funny picturing a grandmother saying that to a 7 year old!  And it was fabulous to find a tee for my youngest from Kinderbliss that sports “See you later gator” {pic of gator}, now it’s time for me to pass on this silly saying to my boys!

A quick mention from there current press release:

clementine art

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

We have had a lot of fun creating master pieces in our house this summer.  Nicholas and Noah both have enjoyed painting, rolling play dough, gluing anything that sticks to paper :-) Sitting with your kids and just getting into a massive mess of creativity is one of  the absolute best times spent together.  Nicholas’ imagination is so much fun at almost 4 years old and Noah is discovery EVERYTHING at just over a year.  So together we have a blast!

We recieved an all natural certified non-toxic art gift set from Clementine Art out of Boulder Colorado and have been thoroughly enjoying all the features of the set.  For the kids using all natural markers, paint, modeling dough, crayons and glue has meant I am not fretting over the mess :-)   Noah puts a lot of things into his mouth still so playing with dough was something nicholas and I use to do during Noah’s nap so Noah never got to participate.  Same thing with painting, Noah didn’t get to play and even with Nicholas I would stress about the mess, the paint getting into his hair, on his skin.  Using Clementine Art made creative play so much more relaxing and free.  Which is exactly what it should all be about anyway.

NATURAL GIFT SET

Clementine believes that natural, organic and wholesome ingredients found in nature are best for children and the earth. Clementine art products, packaging and materials set a higher standard for safety and health in children’s products.
Clementine provides parents with a natural alternative to traditional, chemical-laden art products. Clementine uses wholesome, clean ingredients; non-toxic colors from nature (plants, vegetable, and minerals); and no synthetic preservatives.

DIANA MERCER

“I’ve been delighting in and learning from children for almost 20 years as a teacher, and former owner of Clementine Studio: Art Space for Children. I love to watch a child’s spirit emerge and develop through the process of art. Clementine Art provides little hands with the natural, simple and lovely art products they need.”  Make sure to check out their Art Blog, it is full of really cute and exciting information or become a fan on Facebook :-)   So, if you are interested in creating masterpieces without the toxins AND teaching your children about making responsible choices for a smaller footprint, using recycled products with soy ink and wind powered facilities, Clementine Art has it all packaged for you in a fabulous gift set :-)

Toy Tents and Chairs {Discount}

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Summer is here and so is camping season!  Although the great outdoors is not for everyone most kids love the chance to at least pretend they are outside roughing it over a campfire.  Toy Tents and Chairs make adorable toy, tents, chairs and sleeping bags perfect for every pretend adventure your little guy or gal can come up with.

Toy Tents and Chairs sent my three year old daughter a complementary sample tent with 2 sleeping bas and a chair to try out.  According to her, the Tinker Bell dolls {she isn’t into Barbie yet} have had lots of fun camping!  She has her dolls lounge in the camping chair but her absolute favorite part is putting the dolls to sleep in their sleeping bags.  She puts them to bed over and over again. I have enjoyed watching her use her imagination with a toy that is so simple and fun.  Even though I have watched her get so much enjoyment out of her tent recently I can only imagine how much use it will get when she is a little bit older and finally does discover Barbies!

ATTENTION: This is not just a girl toy!  If you have a little boy that is into hunting, fishing or camping {or at least likes pretending he is} Toy Tents and Chairs has plenty of “manly” options as well!  The camo tent pictured above will provide any little man with hours of pretend play!  There are so many fabric options choosing one for a boy or a girl will be no problem.  Even the adorable chairs, like the one pictured below, are made in many different fabrics to go along with the tents.  They are sold separately so remember to add one or two onto your order.

Toy Tents and Chairs would like to offer all BabyElan readers a 10% discount (with the code TTCBE10) for the next two weeks!  It’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas and it is always a good idea to have a few extra gifts around the house so take advantage of this great discount while it lasts!

Looking for clothing, accessories or toys for your little ones? Why not get ones made from all natural pure goodness.  Items made from 100% Egyptian organic cotton that you and your children will love.  When I came across Under the Nile Organics, I instantly feel in love with their adorable product line.

We received the Under the Nile Tool Box Sample (pictured above).  My little guy loves it.  He is into tools right now, and he carries around his tool box.  The tools are soft and durable, perfect for my son.   The Under the Nile Collection includes 200 products all made with 100% organic cotton carrying the USDA organic seal. The wide selection of products include bibs, toy fruits and veggies, and clothing to name a few.  What a great way to encourage healthy eating with Under the Nile’s collection of adorable toy fruits and veggies!

I love companies that make a difference and Under the Nile certainly does!  Under the Nile is a proud participant in the 13 Villages Project which fights against poverty and its causes in rural Egypt.  Janice Masoud who is founder and  President of Under the Nile, travels to Egypt twice a year to oversee production of her line at SEKEM Initiative Farm, where Under the Nile’s stuffed fruits and veggie are exclusively made. SEKEM is Under the Nile’s partner farm in Egypt and they have identified 13 villages in need of healthier living conditons and a better livelihood. Be sure to check out this wonderful company and spread the word! All items can be purchased on their website.
