I am a non-germaphobic mom normally.  This year, however, with a nasty flu season upon us I too have joined the “hand sanitizer army!”  With an infant in the house, a preschooler and a two year old who is potty training the cleanliness promoting Shandle came to our house at the right time and has spared me some panic attacks when it comes to potty related germs.

The Shandle sticks to the bottom of the toilet seat {just like a heavy duty sticker} and is strong enough to hold up both the seat and the lid.  {To remove it just use soap and water.} Every Shandle has either a fun and colorful character or unique design on both sides with reminders to anyone using the potty to wash their hands.  It will also help kids build a lifelong hand washing habit and hopefully remind any adults who has forgotten to pick up this hygienic habit once again!

We received a free sample of the Shandle to try out at our house.  The monkey Shandle {shown above} is proudly attached to the toilet in our half bath.  My four year old and two year old think the monkey is funny and fun to use.  Since our two year old is potty training right now our Shandle arrived at the perfect time to teach her to wash her hands every time.  So far the Shandle has been an excellent teaching tool for her!
