American Girl

Did you grow up adoring these dolls, are your little girls obsessed with them already, even as a parent don’t you just love them?? As an “American girl” growing up these days, they all know about and cherish their beloved American Girl dolls; they are a constant in homes near and far, loved by both young and old. We wanted to introduce you all today to the newest family member in the American Girl collection with hope that Rebecca will start the Hanukkah celebrations early this year!

Okay, let’s meet Rebeeca.  The newest Historical Character in the American Girl collection, and she’s a beauty! As a girl growing up in New York City in 1914, Rebecca celebrates treasured traditions passed down through her Russian-Jewish family. With a little creativity, Rebecca learns how to stay true to her heart as she follows her dreams in the big city. It’s never to early to teach your children history, and what better way than through something they love.  All the historical characters from American Girl not only entertain your girls for endless hours, but think of the educational value their books and traditions give.  Rejoice in ALL the holidays this season, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwansaa, New Years, and so many more…no matter what you celebrate, teach your children about them all.  Culture them in ways we never were.  It’s a blessing to know that companies such as American Girl put in such effort to “expand the horizons” of their customers with their dolls, like our Rebecca here!  Trust me, we have a sample of her, she’s gorgeous and so worth it!  {Take a look at all the Historical Characters, from 1764 and Kaya the Nez Perce Girl to 1974 with Julie & Ivy, Creative 70’s Girls!}

The Just Like You collection gives your little ladies a chance to find a doll that matches their personality, their unique spirit and look.

Follow your inner star! A brilliant tag-line to inspire little girls.  What do parents love most about American Girl?  For me, even as a mother of boys, it’s a joy seeing appropriateness in the clothing and accessories, and the dolls themselves.  As I shop for my niece and my little girl cousins and friends, it’s scary seeing what Barbie and the BRATS dolls look like now a days!  American Girl is quite modern, yet quite wholesome and sophisticated, but still totally age appropriate.  Even as an adult, I’m envious of little girls and their American Girl dolls!  I could still sit and play with them for hours!!  And the accessories, holy smokes!  Furniture too!  After looking through the newest catalog {which took me, a 31 year old woman, hours too look through…hours of girlie enjoyment} I was prepared to give my niece the best Christmas of her life!

Meet Chrissa, 2009 Girl of the Year!  Chrissa finds courage to stand up for herself, and others!

Your precious little girl will not only have a pal for life, she’s also ALWAYS learn a life lesson when reading the American Girl stories and interacting {through healthy play and imagination} with her BFF, such as with Chrissa!  Again, as always, I am quite jealous of you mommies with girls.  The holidays will be truly fun and amazing if you share American Girl with them!  I would LOVE to hear any stories you have about American Girl in your home…comment away if you wish!  And head on over and do some shopping…I’m on my way over to get some accessories for our Rebecca…like these…
