aden + anais {GIVEAWAY}

October is SIDS awareness month! Although the numbers are falling, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) still causes around 2,500 deaths a year in the U.S. You may know about the recent death of five infants to SIDS just a few weeks ago in New Jersey. In an effort to educate parents about SIDS I’m going to introduce you to a company that makes two baby items that are must haves.  I don’t say that often, I really don’t.  I love a lot of our sample products but this sample product is a true must have.  It’s the foundation to your babies healthy sleep habits and your peace of mind and the fight against SIDS.   See why I say it’s a “must have”.

Aden + Anais are the children of two Australian woman who became mothers and designed organic muslin swaddlers and sleeping bags, which have won several awards! The perfectly lightweight breathable sleeping bag is made of organic cotton muslin for our precious babies to peacefully dream the nights away.    The sleeping bag replaces loose blankets in the crib for safer sleep which reduces the risk of SIDS!  How brilliant!   In the beginning, you swaddle your newborn to give them warmth, security, and to help establish a sleep routine.  The award winning organic muslin swaddlers are like none other!  Once your newborn is too old or too big the sleeping bag replaces the swaddler.   The sleeping bag is good for babies as small as 10lbs or as big as 36lbs.

I was given a sleeping bag for my 4 month old and have used it every single night since.    I do wish I had one or several with my first child.   I’m crazy about it.  The fabric becomes softer & fluffier with each wash, I’ve washed mine 3 times and the fabric is wonderful, the stitching is really durable, colors haven’t faded.  It’s designed for comfort and style.  I smile when I check on Noah before I go to bed, seeing him all snug and cozy in his sleeping bag makes me feel good.  I get comfort knowing he’s warm without being  overheated.  The sleeping bag prohibits him  smothering or breathing fabric that  is full of chemicals!   It was awarded 2009 Best Products from iParenting Media.

Slipping Noah into his sleeping bag for the night means I don’t have to worry about the weather, the effect it has on the house getting chilly during the night.  I know he’s safe and comfortable because the  open weave allows air to flow seamlessly through so his body temperature can adjust naturally to its environment.  The cotton muslin fabric is breathable, light, and stretchy it isn’t heavy or tight.  There is an inverted zipper too so I’m not concerned with choking.  A great convenience is the late night diaper change, no hassle here with the quick easy zipper!  Just unzip up to his belly and that’s all that’s necessary.   Doesn’t he look like he loves his sleeping bag!

I’m hoping we can help  aden + anais and the CJ Foundation teach parents about what constitutes a safe sleep environment for infants by reading about their Ten Steps to Take Before Baby Takes His or Her First!

CJ Foundation for SIDS:
Ten Steps To Take Before Baby Takes His or Her First
1. Always lay your baby to sleep face up.
Side and tummy positions are not safe; check with your doctor if your baby has breathing problems.
2. Don’t smoke while pregnant and never smoke near your infant.
While pregnant or considering pregnancy do not smoke. Never let others smoke near your baby. Smoking is a major risk factor for SIDS.
3. Don’t let your baby get too hot.
Overheating is a leading risk factor for SIDS. Dress your baby in as much or as little as you would wear. If your baby is sweating, has damp hair, or a heat rash, he or she may be too hot. Room fans have been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS. Consider using a wearable blanket or other type of sleeper instead of using a blanket.
4. Lay your baby to sleep in an approved crib, on a firm mattress.
Do not let the baby sleep on soft things, like a couch, pillow, sheepskin, foam pad, or waterbed. Remove all loose bedding, stuffed animals, and pillows from crib. Crib bumpers are not recommended and can be hazardous.
5. Create a healthy lifestyle for you and your baby.
When pregnant, see your doctor often and do not use drugs or alcohol. Talk with your doctor about changes in your baby and how your baby acts.
6. If possible, breastfeed your baby.
Breastfeeding has been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS.
7. Offer your baby a pacifier at all sleep times.
Pacifiers have been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS.
8. Put your baby on his or her tummy to play when your baby is awake and supervised.
Make sure someone is always watching. “Tummy Time” is good for your baby because it makes neck and shoulder muscles stronger.
9. Don’t share sleep surfaces. Adult beds, couches, and chairs are not safe for infant sleep and increase the risk of SIDS, suffocation and accidental
infant death. After feeding, put your baby back in his or her crib.
10. Share these tips with everyone who cares for your baby.
Education is the key to keeping your baby safe.

For abs, it will be good if you train them by alternating between upper and lower abs every day. Also, I have included compound movements for the biceps which will work the fore-arms too. So don?t worry about any parts in my workout?
