green i am

Something about this 3rd baby has me in an eco-conscious mood… Not sure what it is, or if it’s just coincidental timing that I am all of a sudden more “environmentally aware”, but whatever the case, I am. green i am, that is!

Ecopreneur & founder of green i am, Penny Dietz, actually found me through our other business, D’luxe Press & Design, when she was looking to “brand” herself this past spring. Brand what, you ask? Penny has made it her mission and professional ambition to educate & inform every day people like you and I, on the “real dirt on clean”. With green i am, you will learn how to live well, simplify & go green. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Penny for several months on her brand image, and in doing so, I’ve also learned from her personal experiences on how making little changes can go a long way.

Penny shared with me a very inspirational story about her son, Watson, and how his health problems contributed to her passion of going green & educating others as well. For anyone that has or knows a child that struggles with allergies, asthma or just consistent respiratory problems, green i am is for you.  Without going into too much detail here, I encourage you to read his story here!

Although we do not suffer from such medical conditions in our home, I still wanted to make our home a little greener before our 3rd bambino arrives. So Penny graciously shared several sample products with me, which I am thrilled to share with you! As part of green i am, Penny is proud to endorse and represent a fabulous line of environmentally friendly, healthy home, baby & kid products, Shaklee. So what have I tried, and what do I think? Well, I tried the Fresh Laundry concentrate as well as the Nature Bright laundry booster and stain remover on several loads today. I am not just saying this, but I truly believe that the large load of old, stained onesies and burp cloths came out MUCH brighter than they went in… Seriously, I had to do a double take! And the dryer sheets are great too – even though they are fragrance free, my laundry smelled so FRESH & CLEAN when it came out of the dryer! I’ve also really been enjoying the hand wash concentrate, which can be mixed as a gel soap or a foam, whichever you prefer! The first thing I noticed after washing my hands with it, is that I just wanted to smell my hands all day! Not to mention the softness & general soothing feeling that my hands were left with. I still have some other fabulous samples to try, including the dishwasher detergent as well as the all purpose cleaner concentrate, which I am looking forward to {just need to get an empty spray bottle to mix up a great cleaning concoction}!

So I know what you’re all thinking; going green costs so much money! Well, not really; not with green i am & Shaklee. Check out this price chart for comparison!

  1. Wow that is some story about her son. I only burn my eco friendly, chemical free, and no paraffin candles in my home period.

Love your site and this particular post about green i am, hit close to home. I have a four year old daughter and she has always had bad allergies and suffered from upper respitory infections. I am definately going to consider all this information here next time I have to buy a new cleaning product for home.

thank you, thank you, thank you.
