Ok, I’ll be honest here; I have not used this yet…  But it is so cool & looks so fabulous, that I couldn’t wait until after my baby’s arrival to share it with you!  Introducing the Spa Baby European Style Baby Tub !  While we do still have our original bath tub that we received as a shower gift for our first newborn 5 years ago, and that has worked just fine for us, I know a lot of parents who claim to need something different.

The Spa Baby Tub is not necessarily a new concept.  The Europeans have actually been bathing their babies in similar style tubs for years!  This type of tub allows for baby to sit in a natural upright position, with warm water to his shoulders, creating an environment much like the one he is most used to; mother’s womb.  This natural & soothing position has been a lifesaver for moms with colicky babies and those that just don’t enjoy bathtime in a common domestic-style baby tub.

Ok, you may be wondering how difficult it is to use the Spa Baby Bath Tub…  Again, to be honest, I can’t tell you first hand as we have yet to use our tub.  But if you check out the Spa Baby site, you can watch a very informational & instructional video which shows how simple it really is.  There are also a ton of great photos of the tub in use, on their “gallery” page.  Those babies look pretty content to me, wouldn’t you say?  And what I am most excited about, is being able to bath our baby pretty much anywhere in the house, as there is no need to worry about a leaky water plug, or water tipping out the sides like we’ve experienced with our other tub.  I am looking forward to bathing on the kitchen counter, the kitchen table, or even on the living room floor if we so choose!

The Spa Baby Tub would also make for an awesome shower gift; you’d definitely be the most “ooh’d and ahh’d” gift-giver there!  Fill it to the brim with washcloths, a towel, mom’s favorite baby wash & a few small toys, and you’d have a spectacular gift display on your hands!

***  Although we have not used our Spa Baby tub yet, I’ll be sure to post my thoughts on it again, once we’ve had a chance to try it out!
