Chicks-n-Chickens {Giveaway}

Now this is the kind of exercise video I like – its so enjoyable that the exercise part kind of sneaks up on you! When the Chicks-n-Chickens DVD arrived, I was struck by the beautiful packaging and thought – ‘this is MY kind of exercise program’.   I was ready to get crackin’, and typically my  motivation fades pretty quickly.  The video talks about being able to lull your baby to sleep with the gentle movements, so I thought – great, I can do both at the same time -   tone up my legs and get a baby to sleep!  It wasn’t long before I had the opportunity to try it out.  As one baby napped away, and the other had NO interest in sleeping, I popped in the DVD.

 The concept was developed by Darcy Novo Albrecht, a lifelong active woman that found an opportunity to incorporate movin’ and groovin’ into taking care of her chicks.

The introduction is so soothing and personal that it makes  you really look forward to what’s to come.  Its a great change from blaring music and shouting that often accompanies exercise.  The video includes a great soundtrack by Lisa Phenix that makes you want to get movin’, so got my babe snuggled into her carrier and pressed play.

Her program does not disappoint.  In fact, it makes you feel like you haven’t lost your groove from B.C. (before children) and knowing your babe is enjoying it is an added bonus!  As I danced and my baby dozed, I found myself singing along to the soundtrack and having a ball.  The next day, I felt like I had worked my body just enough – which is always the test that answers my question – will I try it again?  A resounding yes!  I’ve been hangin’ with Darcy and her crew a few times a week and now I feel like we’re old friends!

 One lucky winner will receive this great program.  Just check out the Chicks-n-Chickens website and let us know why you’d enjoy movin’ and groovin’.  Contest ends in one week – Good Luck!

    I would lovvve this! My baby’s due in February and I’m already debating how to get rid of these extra “too many comfort food” pounds. The only workout DVD I have right now is Carmen Electra — and god love her, but I don’t need a body like that directing me while I’m toting around an infant and worn out from hopping headfirst into motherhood. This DVD would definitely be well-loved here :]

  20. Jennifer says:

    A fun way to work out?? Does it really exist? Looks like it does and it is something I really need!! I have been in such a slump lately–having a 3 yr old and the baby, it seems like I am not motivated to work out and do something nice for myself. When I do have a little time, I want to get housework done or slump down on the couch!! Usually working out is not my idea of fun, but dancing, moving and relaxing with my kids would be such a great way to shed some of these extra pounds while I am still spending time with the kids!! I would LOVE to have this!!!

  21. Petula says:

    I am not entering this one, but I had to say how great of a product this is. My youngest is getting a little too heavy for this, but I would have loved this for all four of my children. Excellent review too!

  22. ashlynn says:

    OOOh this looks so fun! I tried an aerobics DVD after I had my baby & it wasn’t so fun … doing it with a baby along to fun music sounds perfect!

    I am excited to start movin’ and groovin’ after my first little one comes in May. I used to run a lot, but I am sure that I will need to get back into exercising slowly…this sounds like it would be great! Thanks so much!

  30. katieg says:

    well, I wouldn’t wear my baby while doing this, she’s almost 18 months. but she loves to dance and would have a blast doing this along with me!

  31. Christine says:

    This would be great for those winter months when it is too cold and snowy to be outside with the stroller.

  32. Colleen Inman says:

    I think this looks like a lot of fun. I have tried Baby Yoga etc. and my daughter just insn’ttoo into it so my workout always gets cut short.
