Tattoos With A Purpose {Giveaway}

It has been my experience that the words safety and fun don’t often mix well especially when we are talking about kids. When I first saw Tattoos With A Purpose I was pleasantly surprised that I couldn’t think up one objection my kids would have against going along with this safety precaution. I mean what kid doesn’t like a tattoo and being written on? More importantly, what parent doesn’t like the peace of mind of having their cell phone inked on their child when on a field trip or family vacation?

Cindi Aldrich is the mom behind the tattoo. Cindi was late picking up her son Danny from school one day and arrived to find her son very upset. No one had thought to look up her phone number and contact her. Later when watching her son play with temporary tattoos the light bulb went off in her head. Tattoos With A Purpose was created and has since gone on to win awards like the 2007 iParenting Award in the “safety” category.

My son, who is almost four, was very excited to wear his tattoo to the pumpkin patch. It went on easy and stayed on for almost a week. Knowing that my son has not memorized our numbers it was a relief to know he could still find a way to reach us if he was separated. He does know to find a policeman if he is lost and enjoys telling officers that they “are there” in case he does get lost. Now with his Tattoo With A Purpose he knows to raise his sleeve and “help” the policeman find mom and dad.

These seem to be a great product and I could see them being very helpful. I have a friend who occasionally travels from Hawaii to the East Coast with her two young children and I’m sure these would ease her mind a little during the trips.

My 5 year old son was once lost on a shopping trip to manhattan. He totally freaked out and ran out of a store and started wandering the streets looking for me. Luckily we found him but I”m always worried about what if? I don’t like the idea of pasting my number on his shirt, besides he would pull off a sticker so we write our number in his shoe. This sounds like a great idea though and I would love to win some. Thanks!

  3. Sarah says:

GENIUS!!! I would love to have these for both of my children who are too young to memorize phone numbers for our next family vacation! My daughter adores any kind of tattoo she can get her hands on. Kudos to Cindi for creating such an innovative product.

This product is unique and wonderful!!! Finally there is something your kids will love that makes moms and dads feel more at ease. There is always the treat of losing your child and this helps, especially when the child is too little to get help for him or herself!! I would use this all the time!!!

  7. Patricia says:

These tattoos are a great idea! It gives peace of mind knowing that, should you get separated from your child, there is a way for you to be contacted if someone should find him/her. My son’s at the age where he can walk but can’t talk and these tattoos would be helpful on trips out of the house.

  8. Lara says:

What a wonderful idea. My son loves to wander and he loves tatoos, and now I can have some peace of mind!

Love the teacher ones – these would be great for needing lunch money, etc.

  10. How cool! I’ve never heard of these before. I like that it is a tattoo, not a wristband or something that can come off. Great giveaway, thanks!

  11. Brilliant! I love the peace of mind it would give me while out having fun anywhere with a crowd!

I love this. What a great idea. I am always so paranoid going to places where my son could just wander off because he can’t tell you yet where he lives or his number, let alone his full name! This sounds like an amazing product and I’d love to win it!!!

  21. Marcy says:

I love these things. It is one more thing to make parents of children with disabilities breathe a little easier!

  24. judy brittle says:

They are really great. The If I am lost would make me feel better when my grandchildren are at outings with my kids. Thank you so much!

  25. Tiffani says:

That’s a great idea! I use to be a teacher and this would have been great because the kids loved having tattoos and it would be easier to look at the tattoo instead of going inside, wait for other teachers to get numbers, and call a number that might not be correct.

  26. rebecca says:

these are such a great idea, things happen so quickly! My son has a habit of running off and playing hide and seek in stores. I try not to show him that I am feraking out when I don’t see him, but have started the stranger danger talk lately.

Somehow, though, lately my son has been good and I’ve found loads of lost kids in stores. I just stand still with them until I hear a frantic mom calling. I’ll be on the lookout for the tattoos now.

  27. Lisa says:

I love how it lasts a few days. What a great idea!

  28. My family thinks I’m crazy, but I would like to get my son microchipped, like a puppy. In lieu of that, or until it’s approved by the FDA, this is a great idea!

  29. xenia says:

I love that these last without being permanent and that kids would be cool with wearing them because they’re a tattoo. The peace of mind that would come with having my daughter wearing one would be priceless! Thanks!
